You do have a lot of options with a marketing degree…which is why I'd encourage you to just consider supplementing it with some courses in graphic design rather than a full degree program. Most employers just want to see your skills; they don't care how you got them.
It's not money laundering, it's just a scam. You put their check in your bank account, send them your own check, and then their check gets returned. They disappear with your cash. Just delete it and don't fall for it.
