I actually major in Business Administration and plan to go beyond an MBA in my university career to a Ph.D level, because I want to be a professor and do new business research to create new analytic ideas. But the general business management can be applied to any area. But if you want to specify in one area, I suggest you complete a "Joint Degree" with another field including your business degree like for example medicine, technology, architecture, etc.
    I hope this helped.

You will never be an expert in everything as wonderful as that would be. You need to identify your expertise and hire great peole to provide expertise in the other areas. Perhaps you will not hire any engineers for some time but instead direct technicians. Your first engineer might be electrical. Hire a really good accountant. Look for someone with expertise in both production management and human resources. Etc.

Well, you got Sun Tzu already. But there are modern adaptations, like "Sun Tzu, The Art of War for Managers" (Gerald A. Michaelson). Not exactly vital for martial artists, but definitely for the person who has to work with others (who doesn't?) I think there's another "…for success" (same author), another "…for marketing" (same author)… gerald's been busy readapting the book to different facets of modern live. I haven't read any but the one for managers, and the original.

I swear by Tom Kurz's "Stretching Scientifically, a Guide to Flexibility Training". Bill Wallace also has a good book, but Tom's explains things much better.

My Aikido instructors swear by Morihiro Saito, called "Budo" (isbn: 4-900586-56-0, out of print). However, I found it to be a how-to manual, which I find useful for anyone who already knows the techniques – and that's not me.

Along the lines of "How To", if you are into Taekwondo, there's always the Kukkiwon textbook, which lots of people like – although I don't understand why. The english is horrible, terminology sometimes conflicts, and there are unsourced facts regarding historical issues. However, the pictures alone are worth the book, and even then, I found some to be lacking. But again, this is only for those who already know – it won't help beginners.

Theology… sounds interesting. But I note you didn't include Bible, Ttorah, or Koran. Aren't they required reading? :-)

You are very unlikely to get hired into management with no work experience. You will graduate with your BM degree and then get an entry level job in the business world. Use the skills you learned in your BM program and work hard and you will soon be promoted to management.

  11. Inventor says:

It really doesn't matter. I've seen people with the following types of degrees (and, even no degree) run factories: Engineering, Math, Science, Art, Business, Accounting, etc.
